The city was founded by Rustam Khan who was a Mughal Governor in the empire of Shahjahan, thus the city was named after the youngest son of the emperor named Murad Bakhsh. The city had a great history which is traced in the culture of the area. The city plays an important role in the trade since this big city is an industrial workplace with different established and well-maintained industries that export the produced goods not just within the country but also worldwide. Due to work availability and richness in the variety of work that the city offers, lots of families travel from different parts of the country and state to Moradabad in search of work then eventually settle here. Thus the city has a good population.
